For me it’s difficult to compare the original Tron with the, almost 30 year later, sequel. One of the hardest things to do as you grow up is to see the world as you did as a kid. When I saw Tron in the early 80s it blew my mind. After watching it the real world became the grid. I ran around the neighbourhood cutting off the paths of everyone and everything!
We would do well to remember these things as we grow up. I loved Tron Legacy. It reminded my of this and so many other films that have helped my imagination and creativity. It has element of Star Wars, Blade Runner, Transformers, Terminator. Jeff Bridges even has “The Dude” imbedded in his older character.
Daft Punks soundtrack!, that alone is worth the ticket.
Try to hold on to your pre teen eyes when seeing these sort of films. I mean that’s who they are really made for?
Adult thoughts: Big budget, Disney playing it safe and following their bible of what will sell. Seen it before, bla, bla, bla…
